Theme: From Desert Heritage to Global Legacy
7-8 October 2026
Effat University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Effat College of Architecture and Design (ECoAD), Effat University, invites researchers, academics, practitioners, architects, designers, filmmakers, industry professionals, policymakers, and postgraduate students to submit original research contributions to the 5th International ARCH & DESIGN Conference & Expo 2026 (IADC 2026).
Backgraound
As societies confront rapid urbanization, climate change, technological disruption, and shifting cultural landscapes, architecture, design, and media play a pivotal role in shaping resilient and sustainable futures. Under the theme "From Desert Heritage to Global Legacy," IADC 2026 explores how regional identities, indigenous knowledge, and cultural heritage can be reinterpreted through emerging technologies and innovative design practices to address global challenges.
The conference serves as an interdisciplinary platform that brings together scholars and practitioners from architecture, interior design, industrial design, and cinematic arts to examine the intersection of sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and human-centered innovation. Through research presentations, exhibitions, workshops, and scholarly discussions, IADC 2026 aims to foster collaboration and generate impactful solutions aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
The conference welcomes contributions investigating how emerging technologies, including AI, XR, digital fabrication, smart systems, and virtual environments, are transforming the design and experience of cities, buildings, interiors, products, and media while preserving cultural identity and promoting social well-being.
