With this purpose, a general monitoring was carried out that showed that the drinking water has a higher demand, then it was determined which are the causes for which the lower percentage is inclined by the less ecological and higher cost alternative, for which purpose it was carried out a second monitoring and a survey that allowed to know more details regarding the preferences of the consumers. All this process allowed to know that the selection criterion that prevails is the quality of the product, followed by the ease to access it; It was also possible to determine that a high percentage of the sample reuses the plastic bottles to reload them with drinking water, an action that presents two possible problems: the release of chemical substances and the proliferation of bacteria. Then, strategies are established focused on achieving that those people who are inclined to consume bottled water and sugary drinks opt for the drinking fountain alternative, which in addition to providing good quality water, is free and does not generate waste to the environment.
