Case Study: La Entrada, Santa Elena, Ecuador.EasyChair Preprint 73886 pages•Date: January 30, 2022AbstractThe trend of erosive processes in the Ecuadorian coast has become more pronounced over time, as well as the numbers settlement of communities in this area. Faced with this problem, coastal structures were built in some points of the coast, with the purpose of protecting populations from extreme waves and mitigating erosion. This project arises from the need to generate a beach to promote tourism development in La Entrada Commune, in order to become one of its fundamental pillars towards the development process of the commune and become a tourist reference for the sun and beach areas in the Spondylus Route without impediment of its physical and natural characteristics. To achieve this, the present study was based on: establishing environmental and socioeconomic baseline of the commune, obtaining the variation of the coastline from 1999 to 2019, carrying out basic engineering studies and proposing structural solution alternatives that were evaluated by CEDAS Numerical Model (Coastal Engineering Design and Analysis System) in a period of 2 to 5 years, to determine the best option to design.
