Gengsterism Activity Among Secondary School Students in Johor

Abstract

Gangsterism is one of aggressive behavior or behavior that may damage, harm, or hurt another individual which is also against the state laws. Past research have shown that the number of crimes committed by high school students in Malaysia is increasing, especially in the cases relating to rape, unprotected sex, gangsterism, bullying and suicide. The staggering number of cases have caused concern among the people across the country. Therefore, this paper attempts to identify the cause of the crimes among the high school students and propose steps that should be taken to address the problem of gangsterism among secondary school students. The purpose of this study is to identify and deal with gangsterism among secondary school students in Johor state. The objectives of this study were (i) to describe the statistics gangsterism in Johor Bahru, (ii) to identify the factors that affected the students to be involved in gangsterism in secondary schools and (iii) to identify gangsterism related activities among secondary school students.
