Objective: The objective was to analyze the perception of nurses and users of the Family Health Teams in the municipality of Juína, regarding the insertion of Phytotherapy as a treatment and prevention option for patients. Method To carry out this qualitative research, with simple random sampling. A semi-structured form was used for data collection, involving 150 informants, 12 nurses and 138 users aged ≥ 18 years. The research took place from September to October / 2017, with approval from the AJES Ethics Committee (COEP / AJES), under nº CAAE 69017317.6.0000.8099. Results 100% of the census informants were interviewed. The information obtained showed that 74% of nurses and 94% of users interviewed make use of some medicinal plant and when they need to use some plant they take it from the yard (68%). The main purpose of using the medicinal plant is for curative purposes (66%). Conclusion The results indicate that the population has a great deal of knowledge about medicinal plants.
