Abstract

Humanized mouse and rat models have become indispensable tools in HIV research, allowing scientists to bridge the gap between in vitro studies and clinical trials. This research article explores the current state of humanized mouse and rat models, highlighting their significance in investigating prevention and cure strategies against HIV infection and associated pathologies. We delve into the various methodologies employed in humanizing these animal models, discuss the challenges faced, and present emerging techniques that hold promise for advancing HIV research. By providing an overview of the strengths and limitations of existing models, this article aims to guide researchers toward more effective strategies for combating HIV/AIDS.
