The purpose was to find out the optimal model that suits the data, then construct constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detector for vessel detection. The Kullback-Leibler (K-L) Distance was adopted to judge the fitting degree. The figure of merit (FOM), the probability of detection (PoD) and the false alarm rate (FAR) were calculated to evaluate detector’s performance.
