Under unsteady isothermal conditions, we discuss the diffusion-induced mechanical changes occurring in the blend internal micro-structure and its effect on mass transport which may consequently exhibit a non-Fickian character. Nice agreement was found between the theoretical predictions and experimental data (taken from literature) for the sorption of toluene through polypropylene (PP)/ Acrylonitrile-co-butadiene Rubber (NBR). Keyphrases: Non-Fickian diffusion, interface-conformation, sorption, swelling
