The process involved expert user experience professionals using closed card sorting to draft and refine these guidelines, supported by further expert reviews. The study underscores the capability of these guidelines to uncover previously undetected usability and safety issues in medical devices, marking significant progress in incorporating comprehensive auditory interface assessments into usability evaluations. This advancement is vital for enhancing the effectiveness of user-centered medical device designs, providing a structured approach to integrating auditory interface evaluations that have been historically overlooked in the field.
