The proposed method employs AI-based wavelet transform for fault detection and location, which is a widely used technique in power system analysis. The proposed scheme was implemented and tested on an underground transmission line model using MATLAB/Simulink 2019a. The simulation results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the developed fault detection and location scheme in accurately detecting and locating the fault on the distribution and transmission line. The developed method can help power system operators quickly locate the fault and take necessary actions to restore the power supply.
